Our under 12b team under the guidance of Andy Doyle and Paul Ellis, were unlucky to go down in mill lane by 3 -1 on Monday night. Saturday and Sunday Results and Match Reports (18th &19th April) "Saints Stunned by Powerful Parmo" St Kevins Boys 1 Palmerstown Rangers 3 Our Under 14B travelled to St Kevins Boys on this sunny Morning. It was back to the bread and butter of the League for the boys after the highs of a group runner up position at the Stoke Tournament over Easter. In the opening 10 Minutes the Parmo lads got into their stride moving the ball along the flanks and with the home team having the odd break away attack. In one of these break aways the home team took a surprise lead when a break down their right side ended with a lovely 10 yard lob over keeper Jamie Conway. Palmerstown raised their game a notch. The defence kept strong and a lobbed a through ball to the middle of the park where frontman Ryan Power broke through for a one on one with the St Kevins keeper. Power held off the efforts of two onrushing defenders to slot home the deserved equaliser. From the Kick Off Adam Mann won a tackle and switched play to Mal Taylor who in turn sent Keith Weekes down the left. Keith beat two players to slide the ball to the St Kevins Net. The second half saw the home team come out strongly and attack the Rangers defence. However defenders Taylor, Walsh, Dunne and Maguire ably assisted by Keeper Conway stayed strong and were in no mood to concede an equaliser. Both sides had their chances but with 8 minutes remaining Rangers sealed the deal when sub Ciaran Brennan drilled cross shot was finished to the net by fellow sub Anto Coffey. A very well earned 3-1 win for the Parmo boys. Under 11B 2 - Dunboyne 5 The Under 11's struggle for consistency in 2009 continues. Dunboyne were gifed a 2-0 start courtesy of a couple of defensive errors and Rangers had it all to do. They responded superbly with a good Amy Conroy finish and a "Beckham" style shot from the half way line by Scott McLaughlin to level matters. Rangers should have converted one of their many chances to lead at half time but were happy to turn at 2-2 after a poor start. The 3rd goal was always going to be crucial and in an end to end game it was Dunboyne's centre forward who broke through for the crucial goal and his hat-trick. The visitors were flattered by two late goals as the home team's spirits dropped. The under 11's will hope for a chance to redeem themselves in their final game against Park Celtic.
