Match Reports All the Pre-Easter Match Reports as follows..... Monday 6th April Park Celtic 1 - Under 11's 0 The under 11's were very unlucky not to at least get a share of the spoils at Cabinteely on Monday evening. Form team Park were second best in the first half as Rangers controlled the match but couldnt convert their chances. Park looked dangerous on the break with some speedy forward but Shay Kinsella was on his game to snuff out any danger. A draw looked odd on but Park's centre forward got the break of the ball with 5 minutes to go to shoot past Mark Scully. Scott McLaughlin almost got a long range equaliser but the Keeper produced a superb save at full stretch. Rangers team can be proud of a very disciplined performance as they head into their final two games of the season. Sunday 5th April Under 16B Sunday 5th April 2009 Palmerstown Rangers 6, Ballyoulster 4 Palmerstown Rangers recorded another fine victory over Ballyoulster. Rangers were 6-1 up at one stage with a hat trick from Colm Driver, 2 from Mathew Kenny and an og, but a dogged Ballyoulster side never gave up and scored 3 times near the end as Rangers took their foot off the gas. Peter Connelly Manager 'Under 16 A' Noel Demsey`s`under 16 A took the coast road out to portmarnock in with what would be a hard match against a good portmarnock team. The home side took an early lead which put the Parmo boys on the back foot from the off. They played some neat football and got themselves back in the game with a strike from Cillian Flynn. With the game level at 1 - 1 Gavin McCormack hit the back of the net for Rangers and the lads stayed solid for the rest of the game to win out by 2 goals to 1. ' Record crum-bles' – Sat Under 9 C1 Willie Pearse Park was the venue for this eagerly awaited top of the table clash between Crumlin Utd and our undefeated under 9 sat c.1. From the very start the game moved up and down the field and from end to end. In what was a great game the lads where unlucky to go down by 3 - 2,but we are sure the break will be welcomed and they will bounce back after it. 'Palmerstown loss the old-firm' – Under 7’s Palmerstown Rangers played host to Park Celtic in a great under 7b clash. Our under 7`s are having great fun and their football skills are getting better under the guidance of Aidan Moore. The ever impressive James Dempsey an Evan Lynch bossed the park with Aaron Dempsey and Dylan Ellis making sure park didn’t have it all their own way. The lads are coming along just nicely in what is there first year of competition football and they are having a ball while doing so. Well done to all involved. 'Honours even in the boyne' – Sat Under 12’s Our under 12`s minus a few players picked up another valuable point in County Meath. Both teams searched for that all important winner but had to be cautious of a counter attack. Both Andy and Paul, the managers, say it was a fair result in the end. 'Under 13 A.1' Our 13 a.1 visited St Kevin’s boys in a hope to boost their points tally and were very unlucky to not walk away with all three points. In a very evenly matched game both teams went all out for the three points but just could not separate themselves and 2- 2 was the final score. 'Under 14 A' A day were three points are hard to come by for Palmerstown rangers it was of no surprise when the report came in to hear of yet another draw. Greystones played host to our under 14a on their excellent all-weather pitch. That did not stop the ever-scoring Mr Ian Kavanagh banging in yet another two goals and he surely must be up to twenty now? 2 - 2 the final score. Thursday 2nd April 09Under 11's 1 -Ballyouster 5 The under 11's had scored 10 goals in their last 2 matches but were brought back to earth with a bang by a very well organised Ballyouster side. Rangers got off to a slow start and an early own Goal was followed by a lovely lobbed finish for a 2-0 Ballyouster lead within 15 mins. Rangers came alive at this point and pressed the visitors . Amy Conroy had a couple of great runs down the right but found the Ballyouster keeper in good form. Just before the break Ross Bolger got the deserved breakthrough for Rangers with a lobbed finish and Aaron Dwyer hit the crossbar as Rangers pushed for an equaliser. The half tjme whistle came at a good time for Ballyouster. The next goal was going to be crucial and after a tense opening 10 minutes it was Ballyouster who got the breakthrough. At 3-1 Ranges didnt give up but with a well marshalled defence chances were few and far between and inevitably the visitors broke away for 2 further goals to clinch the win. A very harsh scoreline on the under 11's for whom Shay Kinsella and Keith Byrne can be proud of their efforts on the night.
