Under 15's Frank Cox Cup Semi Final
Palmerstown Ranger 2-0 Drumfinn Celtic

A sunny Sunday morning in the glorious surroundings of Mill Lane saw a huge crowd watch a very entertaining game.  Both teams went straight at it from first whistle and it was end to end attacking stuff

.  Rangers for their part had close calls from Corcoran and Nolan but neither team could break some very neat and tight defensive work from the respective defenders.  If you add to two diligent Linesmen it's no surprise that the game was stalemate at half time.
The second half saw Palmerstown press more up the field and again Corcoran came close as did Johnston.  McGrane and Maguire were excelling with Walsh and Dunne dominant in the defence.  A break from Kavanagh up the right wing saw him cut inside two Drumfinn defenders in the box and as he went to shoot he was clipped from behind but tried to stay on his feet.  But both linesman and referee made the call for the Peno and Walsh tucked it away sweetly to send the large home support wild.
The introduction of Weekes on 60 minutes set the tone for the remainder of the game as Parmo piled on the pressure.  On 70 minutes Weekes again charged down the line beating three defenders and put a shot past the keeper's inside post to all but seal the win.  Drumfinn were tired but never gave up and came close on two or three occasions.  But Rangers too had chances and Maguire skimmed the post while Aspil came close, but it was Rangers day and they will contest the Cup Final at the AUL complex on 9th May.  The lads focus now turns to the league where they are unbeaten and have four games remaining - the Dream Double is still very much on the cards!!

LYC Cup Quarter Final
FC Carlow5-2 PRFC 17's

The U17s cup run came to an end against a very good FC Carlow team on Saturday. The FC Carlow team feature 4 or 5 players who play in their League of Ireland U20 side, so it was to Rangers credit that they gave them a very good game. The game started at a hectic pace and it was Carlow who started better and were 2 nil up within 10 minutes from 2 very well taken goals. Rangers settled into their passing game after this and were rewarded after about 20 minutes when Al Caul received the ball about 25 yards from the Carlow goal and hit an unstoppable shot for the goal of the game. Rangers were well in the game at this point but a deflected shot 10 minutes from half time restored Carlows 2 goal cushion. Craig Brennan played a lovely ball into Jamie Wade before half time which should have resulted in Rangers 2nd goal. Unfortunately Rangers were punished again when Carlow scored their fourth on half time. To their credit Rangers continued to cause problems for Carlow in the 2nd half but conceded a fifth when pushing forward to chase the game. Rangers were awarded a penalty when Al Caul was fouled by the Carlow keeper when put through with a lovely pass from Christy O'Sullivan. Alan Hope stepped up and scored with ease from the spot. So Rangers were beaten by the better side on the day but will head into their remaining league games with a lot of heart. They may have been beaten 5 2 but this Carlow team certainly had to work hard for their victory with the game being a lot closer than the scoreline suggests.

PRFC 6-1 Bohemians
Team - Keith Quinn, Aaron Dunne, Karl Moore, Dylan Ellis, Adam Brady, Mark Dietz and Jack Halpin
Subs - Adam Stuart & Evan Lynch.
Goalscorers - Evan Lynch (2), Jack Halpin (2), Adam Brady & Mark Dietz
Man of the match - Keith Quinn.

Rangers had been threatening this performance all season and Bohs were unlucky to be on the receiving end.  Rangers started strongly and scored in the opening minutes through a fantastic strike by Jack.  Rangers midfield of Dylan, Adam Brady and Mark completely dominated the early stages and were denied further goals by a combination of good goalkeeping and the frame of the goal.  At the back Karl and Aaron dealt with everything that came their way.  Midway through the half Rangers increased their lead following a strong run and cool finish from Evan.  Jack added a third goal just after the re-start.  Rangers then took their foot off the pedal and allowed Bohs to pull a goal back.  Bohs then had Rangers under a lot of pressure and but for some fine goalkeeping by Keith would have reduced the deficit.  The two Adams and Mark then regained control in midfield and Rangers settled the game with another cool finish from Evan.  Adam Brady and Mark were rewarded for fine performances with a goal each late in the game.

PRFC 2-3 Naas AFC
A great game of football played by both sides.  Rangers were unlucky to be on the losing side.  Goals by Jamie Lynch and Wayne Moore had the game level at 2 each.  But a lovely finish from Naas saw them take the 3 points.  Some great performances from Rob Eccles, Glenn Doyle and Wayne Moore and the numbers 7 & 10 from Naas made it an enjoyable game to watch.

PRFC 4-2 Dunboyne

Rangers bounced back from last weeks defeat to Naas with a good win over a gallant Dunboyne side.  The first 20 minutes were even with both sides having half chances before a superb burst down the left by Ross saw his cross headed on by Scott for Nathan to finish to the net.  Ross was at it again 2 minutes later with a wonderful solo effort to double the lead.  However Dunboyne were in this game and reduced the arrears before Nathan in a goal-mouth scramble got Rangers 3rd for a 3-1 half time lead.  The next goal was going to be crucial and fortunately for Rangers Paul capitalised on a defensive error for the fourth.  The teams tired in the second half in the searing heat and a late consolation for Dunboyne put a fair reflection on the final score.  MOTM - Ross for his first half performance but strong performances from Jack, Gary and Nathan.
