Belgrove 0 - PRFC 1 (Leinster Youths Cup) after a 1 nil away win to Belgrove U18s. Rangers started well and created plenty of good chances but didn't score until about 20 minutes in. Shane Merrigan won the ball just inside the Belgove half and drove forward before unleashing an unstoppable shot from about 25 yards. They could have went further ahead as Belgrove struggled with the pace of Al Caul and Christy O'Sullivan who were leading the line well. Kevin Deegan made a terrific save to keep Rangers ahead going into the break. Belgrove increased the pressure in the 2nd half but excellent defending from Cillian McGregor and Donal Murray kept them out. Rangers hit the post and crossbar in the last 20 minutes of the game but deserved to progress to the next round. A great performance by Rangers to come back from 2 down to claim a point against a spirited Lucan side. Rangers started strongly but couldn't take advantage of good midfield play by Adam, Dylan and Mark. Aaron Dempsey saw a shot go narrowly wide. Rangers went behind when Lucan's striker rounded keeper Keith and slotted the ball home despite the efforts of Conor and James. Rangers came out for the second half full of purpose and although Evan and Jack created plenty of chances they could not beat the Lucan keeper. Rangers looked to be beaten when Lucan scored their second goal midway through the 2nd half. Rangers responded a pulled a goal back when Evan followed up a rebound. Karl marshalled the defence while Rangers kept the pressure up. Eventually following a couple of corners, Rangers were rewarded when a superb volley from man of the match Evan found the net.
