Rangers were denied their second win of the season when Celbridge equalised with ten minutes remaining. An under strength Rangers dominated first half possession struggled to create chances in front of goal. However a bright start to the second half saw Scott McLoughlin hit an excellent left footed shot to the roof of the net after good approach play. However in a rare break away Celbridge scored with a well struck chip shot to the roof to secure a share of the points.

Palmerstown Rangers 1 St Joeys 0

Venue: Bluebell Utd |

Palmerstown Rangers progressed to the last 8 of the Cup thanks to a 78th Minute strike from Keith Weekes. Rangers had the better of the first half with Adam Ward being a contant thorn in the side of Joeys. Corcoran, Glennon and Fitzgerald all came close as the lads hit the woodwork. Although Joeys would be glad to go in on level terms they got their act together in the second half as them midfield got some decent supply to a dangerous front line. Rangers had to thank their excellent keeper Keegan for more than one decent stop. It was end to end stuff with Maguire Madden and Nolan all going close and Weekes showing plenty of skill and tricks on the wing. As the game drew to a close and players tired it looked odds on for extra time. However Dunne whipped in a great ball to the back post for that man Weekes to put the boys into the quarter final draw. Manager Dave Walsh is delighted with 5 clean sheets out of last 7 games and would like also to thank Seamus and the Bluebell staff for their hospitality on the day. A happy christmas to them from all at Palmerstown Rangers.

Under 17 All Ireland Cup
Belvedere 4 Palmerstown Ranger 0
Palmerstown were beaten 4 nil by Belvedere 17 Premier in the U17 All Ireland at Fairview Park. Rangers can take a huge amount of credit for their performance against a team winning the Premier and that contains 5 or 6 youth internationals. Rangers started brightly and caused Belvo more problems than they probably expected. The turning point came after 25 minutes when Rangers were reduced to 10 men. A rash challenge from Ismail Nouhi left Rangers with an uphill battle as the game was still scoreless at this time. 15 minutes from half time Belvo opened the scoring when a lucky bounce off the upright left the Belvo forward with a simple tap in. They got the 2nd a minute before half time. In the 2nd half Rangers continued to cause Belvo problems and could have got a goal back, only for their keeper to make a finger tip save from a great header from Donal Murray. With 20 minutes to go Rangers pushed 2 up front to try to get a goal back. It was only in the last 15 minutes that Belvo scored their 3rd and 4th, which made the score line look more comfortable than it was. Rangers will be left wondering what could have been if the game had been played for the full 90 minutes with 11 v 11. The aim now will be to continue this good form into the new year and to challenge for the league.
