CONGRATS TO U.9 AND U.15 A ON FIRST WINS IN LEAGUE
Under 15A 3 Ardrmore 2 The Under 15A side secured their first win of the season with a 3-1 home win against Ardmore on Sunday. Rangers went a goal down to a free kick midway through the first half but Conor McNamara responded within minutes with a well struck shot from 12 yards which beat the keeper at the near post. Defences were on top for most of the game but John Joe Griffin put Rangers ahead from close range with twenty minutes left and Ian Kavanagh secured the win which a deft header from a corner five minutes later. Under 13's 2 Wayside Cetic 3 A hard fought match by two good footballing teams and the first half was characterised by good defending and very few chances. However Wayside made the breakthrough with a well struck shot and Rangers came back quickly to equalise through Ciaran Quinn. Wayside got off to a flyer after the break with two quick goals to race into a 3-1 lead. Rangers pushed hard and a cool finish from James Dunphy reduced the deficit. However Rangers could not quite manage the equaliser and Wayside held on for a narrrow win. Good performances by the lads and they will bounce back after this defeat.
