Super defending from Karl, Conor and Aaron. Great midfield performances from Adam, Dylan, Mark and Jack allowed us to dominate this game from start to finish with Mark and Jack each getting forward to get on the score sheet. Adam and Keith worked really hard up front and kept the Willows defence busy while our man of the match Evan was a constant threat to the Willows defence and capped a terrific performance with a great hat-trick. | | Under 15 A | Cabinteely 6 Palmerstown Rangers 2 | | Under 15B | Palmerstown Rangers 3 Cabinteely 0 | | The Under 15 B’s maintained their good start with a solid win against Cabinteely 3-0. A brace from Sean Johnston and one from Stephen Aspil saw the home side wrap up the result by half time. The Cabinteely lads improved in the second half but Rangers keeper Keegan and a strong home defence with captain Gavin Walsh and Lee Dunne prominent kept a clean sheet. Indeed diehard St Pats Fan Robbie Glennon and Graham Fitzgerald were unlucky not to add scores. Manager Dave Walsh was very pleased with his team’s performance. | | Under 17 M1 | Palmerstown Rangers 3 Verona 2 | | U17s continue their winning start to the season with a 3 2 away win against Verona. Played in wonderful sunshine but on a terrible pitch which didn't suit Rangers passing game. Despite plenty of 1st half chances, it was 5 minutes before halftime before Rangers took the lead after a scramble from a corner. Dylan Byrne getting the final touch despite protests from Verona that he handled the ball. Rangers had more chances in the 2nd half and paid for not taking them when Verona equalized from a penalty. Donal Murray then put Rangers back in front with a towering header from a corner. Verona scored again when a cross from the left dropped in at the far post. It was looking like Rangers might regret the missed chances before Ian Jackson Ryan scored the winner with a low drive that the Verona keeper couldn't hold. |
