Wins for Under 17's v Bohemains and  under 15 b

First game of the season is important to win for all teams, and rangers are no different.  Noel Dempsey and Dave Walsh got the ideal start to the new season - reports as follows

The 17s off to a good start with a 5-2 win over Bohemians. An early goal from Al Caul which continues his good form from pre-season settled the team down and continued to play some good football. Bohs equalized with a great strike from 25 yards but Rangers will be disappointed that the shot wasn't closed down. 2 good goals from new signing Brian Tyrell before half time gave Rangers a comfortable lead. Bohs came back into it early in the 2nd half and pulled a goal back from a dubious free kick on the edge of the box. 2 late goals one from close range from Shane Merrigan and the 5th from new striker Ian Jackson Ryan with a thundering finish gave Palmerstown the 3 points that they fully deserved.

under 15 b - palmerstown rangers 4 knocklyon utd 0
Knocklyon having been relagated two leagues from the A, would prove a tough test for the palmerstown lads.  The first half like expected started off at 100 miles an hour and both teams very strong in defence left chances up front very limited for both sets of strikers.  Although Palmerstown would argue having most of the ball,t he visitors would have had the clearer of what were limited chances.  With the first half level at  0 - 0 the home side made a few positional changes and 10 mins into the second half, palmerstown made the breakthrough.  Out of defence debutant christian nolan found aidan maguire down the right, maguire whipped a low ball in for last seasons top-scorer johnston to get rangers up and running.  The first was quickly followed by a second, and another one of the five debutants jamie corcoran recevied a ball from maguire and again it was crossed from the right, and a very neat finish from new-boy stephen aspil made it 2 - 0.  Half way through the second half rangers came through the middle and a long ball from defence found rangers in a four v three scramble in the box.  Johnston was quick of the mark two smash it home for his second and a rangers third.  The visitors wouldn't lie down and garreth keegan in goal excelled with a top drawer save to keep his clean sheet intact.  Final ten minutes and a wonder run from man of the match keith weekes, he beat three players coming out of defence and then found corcoran who chipped a sweet but awkward ball just over the scrambling defenders head and unfortuntly he nodded into his own net to leave it at 4 - 0.

well done lads, a good start.
