Sunday

Under 15B1 PRFC 3-3 Rangers

Parmo lost valuable points on Sunday following a thrilling second half where the visitors twice came from behind to force a draw.  After a tame first half where home keeper Ross was the busier, Palmerstown stepped up the pressure in the second half and Paul slotted home two excellent right footed shots to give the home team a 2-0 lead.  With keeper Ross pulling off a wonder save and Glenn forcing a save after a superb slick move it looked likely that Parmo would seal the game.  However from a dubious offside position, Rangers number 10 reduced the arrears and the equaliser followed from a free kick.  Although Andy put Parmo back in front with a wonder strike from 20 yards, the visitors had the last goal of the day, following some poor home defending from a throw-in.  All in all a very good advert for the game and the visitors got the point their overall play probably deserved.

Under 16 PRFC 2-3 Orchard Celtic

Paul's lads battled hard and really gave the leaders a good game,  trailing 1-0 at half time the boys really pushed hard and will count themselves unlucky not to pick up at least a point.

Under 17 MAJ 2 PRFC 2-1 Greystones

Paul Bore's lads battled to a hard fought win over "stones",  a penalty miss didnt help their cause but the boys held on for a good win to keep the season moving nicely in the right direction.

Rangers had an early blow when top scorer Scott had to bow out with a nasty injury and the team didnt respond in a first half where Mountview deserved to lead 1-0, it was a different Rangers in the second half as Curtis free kick deceived the keeper for the deserved equaliser after sustained pressure.  However a goalmouth scramble and failure to clear their lines saw Mountview regain the lead.  However Rangers dominated the remainder and Chulainn got the equaliser with a good finish after good attacking play.  Rangers almost got the winner that their strong finish would have deserved but the chances went and they had to be satisfied with a share of the spoils.

James McClean: The Story So Far.
By Mark Lynch

When the Republic of Ireland qualified for the European Championships last November, one of the last people that most would have expected to be on the plane to Poland is Sunderland's winger James McClean.

Rangers put in a spirited display against the leaders Fettercairn and were good value going in at half time level when Mark Lowry's excellent finish equalised an earlier effort from the visitors.  Fettercairn showed their class during the second half and a superb volley provided the lead goal and when they scored the third it looked all over.  However Ross pulled one back and Rangers had a right go the the end and almost forced the equaliser following a goal mouth scramble.  Full credit to the lads and keeper Mikey who had a solid game between the sticks.

Under 15 Peamount (A1) 3- PRFC (B1) 0

The result was very harsh on a gallant rangers who gave their all but just lacked the quality up front to put pressure on the home team who are flying this season.  Rangers conceded mid-way through the half but Paul had a great chance for the equaliser which just shaved the post.  Rangers battled bravely with keeper Ross, Adam and Andy in good form, although Peamount got a crucial second, Rangers spurned two glorious chances and Peamount broke to put a gloss on the result and advance to the Semi

Rangers had a great win in a hard fought game against St Joeys on a warm November Sunday.  This was a good contest on a poor pitch where Rangers showed their hunger to overturn a 2-1 deficit at half time to snatch the win.  A great battling peformance with goals from Scott, Dave and Paul proving the difference.  Great credit to all the lads and special mention to Central Defenders Adam and Jack who stood tall as Joeys pushed for the equaliser.

Confey FC 2-2 PRFC

This was a hard-fought game in dreadful conditions at St Cathrine's Park in Leixlip on Sunday 23rd October.  On a small and bumpy pitch with constant rain the pretty football was not the order of the day as both sides tried to secure the win.  Rangers twice took the lead through Mark Scully and Paul Datcu, but Confey battled hard and made the most of their chances to get a deserved draw.  Rangers failed to carve out the chances their possession merited and Confey always looked dangerous on the break and from set pieces.  Both sides will have a say in the final destination of the league.
